NOTIFICATION OF FIRE HYDRANT TESTING

The Greenevers VFD in conjunction with the Town of Greenevers will be conducting fire hydrant testing on our water system beginning Thursday, April 7, 2022. When testing begins on the system there is a possibility that the following issues may occur up to several days after the start date:

Greenevers' Comprehensive Plan Presentation

The Town of Greenevers is working on its first-ever Comprehensive Plan to help guide the town’s growth and development. As members of the Greenevers community, your input is one of the most important parts of the Comprehensive Plan. We are currently seeking feedback from residents about what areas in Greenevers they would like to see preserved, enhanced, or developed. 2021 ANNUAL DRINKING WATER QUALITY REPORT

Included are details about from where your water comes, what it contains, and how it compares to standards set by regulatory agencies. Requests for AIA Engineering Services Proposals

The Town of Greenevers hereby requests proposals for engineering services associated with the preparation of Asset Inventory Assessments for the Town’s water and sewer systems infrastructure in accordance with the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Division of Water Infrastructure (Division) guidance document entitled “Water and Wastewater Utility Evaluation Guidance Document: Asset Inventory & Assessment, Capital Cost, and Operating Cost Analyses” (Guidance Document) February 2022. The Guidance Document is available in electronic format on the Division website. The work is funded by Asset Inventory Assessment grants from the Division of Water Infrastructure. The project schedule requires completion of the work as quickly as possible. If you are interested in being considered to perform the engineering work for this project, please submit a statement of interest along with information describing your company’s competence and qualifications in performing similar work on or before 5:00 PM Monday, March 7, 2022. Your response may be by email to townofgreenvers@centurylink.net or by mailing hard copies to Town of Greenevers, ATTN: AIA Engineering Services Proposals, 314 E. Charity Road, Rose Hill, NC 28458. The Town intends to select the most qualified firm and thereafter negotiate a contract for engineering services by no later than March 14, 2022. If you have questions, please email me.
Inclement Weather Closing

The Greenevers Town Hall will be closed tomorrow (1/21/22) due to inclement weather. We will reopen for normal business on 1/24/22 or as weather permits.
Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP)

LIHWAP is a temporary emergency program that will help eligible households and families afford water and wastewater services, providing a one-time payment for eligible low-income households paid directly to the utility company. LIHWAP runs through September 2023 or until the funds are exhausted. Click here for more information regarding this program.
COMMUNITY SURVEY & OPEN HOUSE

An Open House will be held on Monday, November 29th from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Greenevers Community Center to gather public input for the Greenevers Comprehnensive Plan. This plan will help to guide the town's growth and development. Below are some of the questions that will be discussed at the Open House. Please think about them and bring your thoughts, questions, and comments to the Open House.
2021 General Municipal Election

The 2021 General Municipal Election for the Town of Greenevers will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the Greenevers Community Center. Polls will open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. Click here to view the sample ballot for this election.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FY 2021-2022 PROPOSED BUDGET

In accordance with the N.C. General Statutes 159-12(b), the Greenevers Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the proposed budget for fiscal year 2021-2022 on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 7 PM in the Conference Room of the Town Hall. The purpose of the hearing is to receive public input for the proposed budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2021. All interested citizens are invited to attend the hearing.
